Who We Are

First Church of God exists "..to present Christ in a contemporary, creative, credible, and caring way to all people.."

We are affiliated with the Church of God, a Bible based, non-denominational church with General offices in Anderson, Indiana.

We began in the early 1880's as a movement to restore holiness and unity among God's people. Today we operate a seminary, two universities, several colleges, and a vital missions program in 90 countries.

This church was formed in 1895. We started meeting in homes during our early years. In 1897 the church met in a furniture store on Milwaukee Avenue.

The church moved to five other locations until property was purchased on the corner of Lathrop and Victory. The present building was completed and dedicated in the Spring of 1957.

In 1962 we purchased property at the corner of Russet and Victory and began the ministry known as Jack & Jill Day Care.
